Shared Ownership Solicitor

The Role

In this role you will work in a fast-paced conveyancing department which specialises in new build and shared ownership transactions. You will be speaking with clients and referrers on a daily basis whilst progressing their files. You will work closely with the Head of New Build and Shared Ownership Division Leader who will be close at hand to support you developing in the role, as well as the other fee earners in the team.


The day to day:

  • Drafting and approval of documents e.g. contracts, transfers and ancillary 
  • Dealing with Shared Ownership resales (both sale and purchase), interim and final staircasing and remortgages. 
  • Dealing with financial arrangements related to property acquisitions on behalf of buyer/lender including mortgage arrangements and Gifts
  • Create and manage correspondence and document files for each individual client matter according to the standards laid down by the firm and other governing bodies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and with other professional contacts
  • Promote and market the team

 

 What experience should I have? 

Ideally you will be qualified either as a Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Legal Executive with at least 2 years plus experience within Conveyancing and ideally with some Shared Ownership transaction experience and be confident in managing a busy caseload. An understanding of New Build would be helpful but not essential.
