THE ROLE
Day to day:
- Assisting the Private Client Fee Earners with a variety of administrative support tasks.
- Once full training has been given, this role will be responsible for all adhoc dictation that falls outside of standard workflows
- Drafting, originating, compiling, and chasing essential case documentation
- Ensuring that case files are managed in accordance with the requirements of the office manual
- Keeping security records up to date
- Completing Checklists for file and Lexcel requirements
- Handling adhoc incoming telephone calls from Clients, taking messages and handing messages on to the relevant fee earner
- Handling diary booking requests for client meetings
- Filing, photocopying, scanning, printing of various different types of documents, most of which will be confidential and sensitive
- Preparing historic files for closure
- Using Excel spreadsheets and updating them when required
- Such other duties and tasks as may be required to assist with the team
What skills should I have?
- Great attention to detail
- Microsoft Office suite
- Organised
- High standard of literacy – ability to type accurately from dictation
- Good communication skills
- Good client care skills
- Ability to use dictation software would be an advantage
This role is suitable for anyone looking to build on their existing administration experience by moving into the legal industry. Alternatively, this could provide the successful candidate with a starting point in administration. Whilst it is not essential that you have office experience, it would be preferred. For those who do not have office experience, we will be looking for evidence of the above skills in your application.
Who will I be working with?
You will work closely with the Private Client support team, made up of Legal Assistants and Paralegals. In time and once established, you may also be required to provide administrative support to our more senior/experienced fee earners.

As an entry level role, this position will pay National Minimum Wage. However, in addition to your salary, our employees receive 28 days holiday per year (including Christmas shutdown), plus bank holidays. We receive Life Insurance from day one of employment.
